By “delegating” the organization of your dive vacation to Waterlines, you save time, energy, and often money.
You could use our website as a source of information to arrange your vacation by yourself. However, by relying on Waterlines, you make the choice of having one unique customer-oriented and professional contact, instead of having to deal with a resort, a dive center, an insurance company, often an airline and so on…
Furthermore, we get special rates from our partners, so that even after adding our mark-up, Waterlines’ rates are always equal to, or lower than, those of our partners’ public rates.
FAQ
We are experienced divers, but only amateur photographers. Our friend, Don Silcock, a Sydney based photojournalist who travels widely in Asia, contributed many of the images used on this site. Don has been published in magazines such as Sportdiving and ActionAsia & Diver. Check out Don's site www.indopacificimages.com as it contains a large selection of image galleries, dive location information and 40+ articles on dive travel and underwater photography equipment & technique.
Pictures on our website are allocated on a destination-by-destination basis to show species that you are likely to spot. We do not oversell the destinations we promote, and indicate what you will probably see and what you might see if you are at the right place at the right time on a specific location. Our pictures are not as good as Don’s, but they show some of the species we saw during our exploratory trips. They can be viewed on our Facebook profile under Waterlines Diving.
We would like to apologize towards our Chinese friends. At the time, Waterlines does not have the resources to properly maintain a website in Chinese. However, we welcome all divers who share our philosophy of safe, environmentally concerned scuba diving. If you do not feel comfortable speaking/writing English, please do not hesitate to contact us on info@mywaterlines.com for information about our trips, and rest assured we will address your requests timely and professionally so that you can enjoy the Waterlines experience.
By nature, tips are optional and, we believe, should only be given when the excpected level of service is met or exceeded. However, leaving a tip to a divemaster and/or to the boat crew is common practice in some countries, and in the dive industry at large. It is up to anyone's discretion to decide the amount to be given as a tip, and whether it should be given to a particular dive staff member or to the dive center. For specific trips (primarily safaris), we suggest the amount that could be left as a tip, but generally, the amount that is considered reasonable to show your appreciation depends on the destination. Feel free to ask us if you wonder how much you should leave as a tip.
Repatriation insurance:
Incidents and accidents are very rare. However, they may happen anywhere and at anytime, whether it is at home, in a hotel room, in a car or on a boat. It is critical to be prepared, especially when traveling to remote, sometimes under developed areas, where medical care is not always adequate. Contracting repatriation insurance is the best solution to ensure you and your family can be taken care off efficiently, in the unfortunate situation an accident happened. For your own safety, we require evidence of repatriation insurance. If you have a personal insurance, we recommend you verify your contract covers all your family members, within and outside your country of residence
Insurance for dive injuries:
Statistics evidence that the rate of accidents while scuba diving is much lower than that of many other activities, including American football, soccer or basket ball. However, it is important to address risks upfront. We strongly recommend you verify with your insurance company whether dive-related injuries are covered.
We support DAN, which we view as a unique organization with the best expertise worldwide in dive-related incident and accident management. To further promote the organization, we also have decided to sponsor DAN Asia-Pacific.
