Let's clean up the shoreline and help the planet, while catching a tan!
Volunteers will meet at noon, head out for an hour on the bus to the beach, beach comb for trash for two hours, head back in the van, and get dropped off at 4 pm. Please RSVP at beanshanghai@gmail.com to sign up and know the meeting point. There are only 25 spaces on the bus, so that means BEAN can take 25 volunteers. If there is enough demand, they will be happy to rent a second bus to take more people, but either way, and RSVP is needed.
Volunteers should bring a packed lunch to eat on the bus and need to bring their own work gloves; trash bags will be provided. Transport costs only RMB 20. Rain or shine, the clean up will happen!
THE DEEP China Tour has started, for 3 years! After Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and more recently Taiwan and Hong Kong, this unrivaled exhibition about the deep sea is currently displayed at the Shanghai Science and Technology museum (suitable for kids as well, and FREE entrance). Longitude 181 NATURE is a not-for-profit organization promoting responsible and sustainable diving and traveling practices, primarily through the implementation of International Guidelines for Responsible Divers. It was originally founded and is still managed by passionate volunteers, many of whom worked for decades with the late Jacques-Yves Cousteau.
